THE ANXIOUS OLIVE | MUA, Photographer & Sculptural Artist
For so long, I felt safer behind the camera, letting others shine while I stayed hidden. Even being in bts videos felt intimidating.
But something shifted.
I started seeing beauty in my softness, strength in my presence, and freedom in showing up as I am.
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about claiming space, celebrating growth, and letting myself be seen – fully, confidently, unapologetically. 🫶🏼

Yesterday, I felt a strong urge to drive by our future home… still unfinished, but already full of meaning, just to let the universe ground me…
TO B*TCH SLAP ME BACK TO REALITY 👋🏻
Because lately, I’ve been catching myself letting way too much get to me. I’ve been reminded (again and again) to stop giving energy to things and people that don’t matter in the bigger picture. It’s wild how easy it is to get distracted by doubt, overthinking, comparison… all the noise that pulls me away from what truly matters.
There’s so much I’m grateful for. Not just the things I’ve achieved, but the people who’ve walked with me, cheered me on, inspired me, and even challenged me to grow. And still, I catch myself giving time, thought, and emotions to things that don’t serve me.
So here’s my reminder to myself, and maybe to you, too:
Protect your peace.
Honour your intuition.
Move with intention.
Nurture the relationships with the ones who fill your life with meaning… through love, creativity, purpose, and truth.
They deserve our presence, not our leftovers. Let’s keep that fire burning and remember our why. ❤️🔥✨
Much love,
Olive

As a multi-dimensional artist, it can be so difficult to focus on one thing — especially when you’re trying to make a living from your art. The pressure to niche down, to package yourself into something easily understood, can feel suffocating when your creativity doesn’t work in straight lines.
I’m learning that not everything I create has to serve a purpose, make sense to others, or fit neatly into a portfolio. I just needed to give myself permission to create without boundaries.
Because Art doesn’t always follow straight lines.
Sometimes it’s pigment on skin.
Sometimes it’s light captured in a fleeting moment.
Sometimes it’s soft and sprawling.
Sometimes it’s unfinished, messy and deeply personal.
Sometimes it can be just for me.
I’m learning that my art doesn’t need to be understood, polished, or profitable to be valid.
It just needs to be honest.
And that, I’m learning, is more than enough.
This piece I’m working on is still unfinished. Far from it.
But sharing her in progress has been just as meaningful as the final form.
Every added layer holds more weight, more depth… just like life.

Motherhood changed me in ways I never expected. It softened me, challenged me, and at times, left me wondering where I had gone.
But maybe I wasn’t lost.
Maybe the universe was preparing me for something greater.
I’m still learning. I’m still healing.
But I’m also determined and deeply inspired.
I am inspired by a little boy who made me a mother. He is my purpose, my reset, and my reason.
This season, I’m not just surviving.
I’m thriving – blooming into the best version of myself.
The pink is finally coming back and I’m ready.
Happy Mother’s Day.

Last year, while visiting Australia, we made a life-changing decision — to move back and build our first home here. With that leap came another: I finally chose to pursue my creative dreams wholeheartedly. We even designed our home around my studio — a space built with intention, and belief in what could be.
One day, I whispered to the universe:
“Please give me a sign that we’re making the right decision.”
With that, I started envisioning my dream client. I said, “Her wedding will be at The Ville.”
A few days later, I received an email from Rhiannon.
Her wedding?
May 2025.
At The Ville.
I still get chills thinking about it.
Whether you believe in manifestation, divine timing, or the quiet magic of trusting your gut — I believe that when your vision is aligned with your purpose, and you’re willing to do the work, the universe meets you halfway.
This was more than just a booking — it was a sign.
A full-circle moment.
A gentle nudge reminding me:
You’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

For the past year, I’ve been quietly creating something deeply personal — a collection of art pieces called “In Between Finding Oneself.”
What began as a way to process life’s complexities has grown into a series of love letters to myself — and to anyone navigating life’s in-betweens.
Each piece is a tribute to the many versions of myself, and to anyone who’s ever felt stuck, evolving, or somewhere in between. This collection reflects the different ways I move through life: as an artist, a wife, a mother — a woman in constant evolution.
I’ve held this dream close to my heart since I was little. As a multi-passionate artist, it’s a dream I’ve put on hold for far too long — at times, I even thought it would fade into a quiet ghost of my past.
But not anymore.
I’m no longer shelving this part of me. I’m manifesting the day I’ll share these pieces in a space that holds them fully. A future exhibition is already written into my story — it’s only a matter of time before it takes shape, and you’re all invited. ✨🫶🏼

1. Simplifying my kit made my life so much easier.
I love shopping for new products (who doesn’t?), but honestly, most of what’s in my kit are staples I’ve trusted for years. I’m not about carrying 3–5 different foundations anymore. For instance, I now carry just Dior Backstage Foundation. It’s buildable, works on every skin type, and gives the most beautiful, long-lasting coverage. Carry universal products that work on a variety of clients. If it works, why overcomplicate it?
2. Clients trust what they can see.
I take a lot of pride in how my kit looks. A beautiful, professional setup always makes a strong first impression. Clients often compliment my kit, and if they fall in love with a product I used, they can easily snap a quick photo. It’s all part of the experience and adds so much character to the service.
3. Original packaging = better hygiene and longer shelf life.
Products are made to stay protected in their original packaging — from air, bacteria, and contamination. Sometimes depotting can actually shorten the life of a product, and for me, hygiene will always be non-negotiable.
4. Lastly, I hate depotting.
The mess. The heartbreak when a product cracks or dries out. Nope, not for me. 🥵
What’s your take on depotting or condensing your kit? Whether you’re a fellow artist or a client who’s been glammed up, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
